January 14 – PR Crash Course

Do you ever find yourself wondering, “Wait, what exactly is public relations, anyway?” Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Connect with Ohio State PRSSA advisors and faculty members Mary Sterenberg, Kerry Christopher, and Katie Thomas as they answer all your questions, big and small, about the communications industry. Food will be provided! 🍕

January 21 – PRSA New Pros Panel

Get ready to make the transition from college to your career by meeting PRSA New Pros members Nigel Becker, Jonathan Mayes, Jesse Burke, Melina O’Neal, and Isabel Scudella. As recent graduates starting their post-graduate journeys, they’ll share the advice they wish they’d received as undergrads, the tips you need to thrive early in your career, and how PRSA membership helped them along the way.

January 28 – Paving Your Own Way with BASCA

In this special collaborative meeting with Ohio State’s Black Advertising Strategic Communication Association, hear from Tonnisha English-Amamoo about her path to starting her own consulting firm, TJE Communications, right out of college. Tonnisha will share her recommendations for embarking on a non-traditional career journey and opportunities for getting involved in the community after graduation.

February 4 – Mid-Semester Social with The PRactice

Build connections with your fellow PRSSA and The PRactice members through this networking night social event at Leo’s at 25 Chittenden Ave from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. This event is open to all members ages 18+, with a valid ID required  to purchase alcohol. Food will be provided! 🍕

February 11 – Pay It Forward with PRSSA

Earn some volunteer hours and make a difference in the Columbus community with PRSSA! Join us to make tie blankets for the unhoused and learn about how Star House helps youth facing homelessness in our city.

February 18 – The Evolution of PR in the Social-First Age

The word “trends” will take on more meanings than one in this meeting with EXPRESS Vice President of Brand Marketing, Kendra Stokes. With experience working at top fashion brands like Victoria’s Secret, Justice, and EXPRESS, Kendra will share how she optimizes trends on both social media and the red carpet while running modern public relations strategies. Food will be provided! 🍕

February 25 – No Meeting

Many of our members will be attending our Ohio State PRSSA annual networking trip to New York City this week.

March 4 – The PRactice Presentations

Curious about what goes on at The PRactice, Ohio State’s student-run agency? The firm’s top teams this semester will present the work they’ve been doing and share what The PRactice experience is all about. Food will be provided! 🍕

March 11 – Influencer Marketing from Both Sides of the Brand Deal

Interested in pursuing content creation as a career? Learn what it’s like to be a full-time influencer from Columbus foodie and travel blogger Megan Varela, along with her top tips for identifying influencers to promote your product and building effective brand deals.

March 25 – 2026-27 Executive Board Elections

All paid members are encouraged to attend this important meeting to elect next year’s executive board. Make your voice heard and vote for the candidates you want to represent you! April 1 – Interviews Do’s and Don’t’s and Resume Building Workshop

Learn how to land a job in communications from specialists who hire for the industry everyday. The Shipyard’s Kylee Reyes, People Operations Generalist, and Kasie Bedell, People Operations Manager, will provide their insights about interview and resume best practices to help you find your dream role.

April 8 – Branding & PR in the Fragrance Industry

Get a whiff of what the fragrance industry is all about with Ohio State alum Natalie Hricovsky and her coworker Jonathan Pierron from IMH Fragrance. They’ll discuss what makes public relations and marketing unique in the fragrance world and even host a hands-on smell session!

April 15 – Strategic Marketing at Abercrombie

Hear from Ohio State PRSSA alumna Georgie Frericks, Brand Strategy Specialist at Abercrombie & Fitch, as she explains how brand strategy plays out at some of Columbus’s most iconic companies, including A&F, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, and more. Plus, learn how Georgie balances her role with running her own business, Bloom Baby Florals!

April 22 – End-of-Year Banquet

Celebrate a year of successes in PRSSA at our final banquet of the year! Help us thank our mentors, earn recognition for your contributions to our chapter, and enjoy some good food and friendship. This event will be located at Budd Dairy Food Hall from 6:30-8 p.m. and we encourage everyone to wear their favorite dressy casual outfit for photos. Food will be provided!
